Why the Moving Cycle?
The Moving Cycle is more than a therapeutic approach—it’s a journey into the wisdom of the body. Rooted in dance therapy, neuroscience, and contemplative practices, this body-centered psychotherapy assists individuals in reconnecting with themselves, mending past wounds, and crafting new, empowering narratives.
“Everyone deserves to truly feel at home in their bodies.”
Originally developed as a form of body-based psychotherapy, the Moving Cycle has expanded into educational, creative, and personal growth contexts. It’s a powerful tool for therapists, educators, artists, and changemakers seeking to integrate movement into their work and lives.
Who is this for?
The Moving Cycle resonates with professionals and individuals seeking a deeper, embodied understanding of themselves and their relationships.
This training is ideal for:

Whether you’re a therapist, educator, artist, or seeker, the Moving Cycle offers a powerful pathway to connection and creative transformation. If you’re passionate about personal growth and supporting others in their journey, this training is for you.
Experiences from participants who joined the online introduction to the Moving Cycle:
My Story
In 2016, I encountered the Moving Cycle, and it was like finding the missing piece I didn’t know I was searching for. It felt like coming home—not just in my work as a Dance-Movement Therapist, but in my personal life too.
Over the past 7 years, I’ve immersed myself in this work—studying, assisting, co-teaching, and now teaching the Moving Cycle independently. It’s a joy to see how this approach transforms lives, helping people not just heal, but thrive.
I am thrilled to bring this transformative method to New Zealand and share it with a community that values innovation, depth, and connection.

- Develop shared authority between facilitator and mover for mutual trust.
- Support movement sequences to evolve into powerful body narratives.
This immersive phase combines theory, practice, and group discussions, laying the groundwork for transformative work.

Phase Two focuses on relational dynamics and the impact of non-verbal communication.
You’ll learn to:
- Understand how body-to-body interactions shape emotions, energy, and character.
- Create a safe environment for exploring body memories and patterns.
- By experimentally studying the body-to-body relationship between the facilitator and the mover, the facilitator can internalize skills that support the mover to feel more secure in touching into body memories and action tendencies from the past that can now be sensitively worked with within the attuned relationship.
